Hello, I'm August
Hello! My name is August Ehrlich. I am 16 years old and I live in Cambridge, Massachusetts. I am a lifelong fan of Legos and have built dozens of sets during my lifetime, including the Lego Death Star, the UCS Star Destroyer, the Millennium Falcon, and many more. I came up with this idea, and I made this website! I have two loving parents and three conflict-prone siblings. My two sisters, Arsema and Samrawit are adopted from Ethiopia and they were both impacted by the years in the orphanage. They had no toys to play with. Upon their arrival to my family, it was clear to see how they were both behind in several aspects, most notably fine motor skills and functionality, and I was inspired in part by what I witnessed with her to do this. Many thanks to them.
Our Family's Commitment to Ethiopia
Our family has been committed to Ethiopia since our sisters joined us through adoption. We have supported the Kidane Mehret Orphanage in Addis Ababa, where they spent their first years, including financial support, food, clothing, soccer balls and educational materials for the kids living there. We have also consistently supported another wonderful organization in Ethiopia called Selamta which provides lasting family environments to children and young adults who are not eligible for orphanages.
